Why eco-friendly Agriculture?

There are many reasons to buy chemical-free food. Fruits and veggies were not raised using manmade chemical pesticides, fossil fuel, sewage- based fertilizers or genetically modified seeds.

How is eco-food healthier? Some studies suggest that eco produce has more nutrients than its conventional counterparts, probably because the soil is left in better condition after repeated plantings and because you avoid ingesting any harmful pesticide residues left on conventional produce.

"Eco-Friendly" is more sustainable and healthier; for the environment and farm workers, and often for you and your family.

Our approach to organic

Our farmers are committed to sustainable farming practices; farmers have received several trainings and hands on experience on sustainable organic farming practices. We work with small scale farmers who produce vegetables and fruits, who don’t have the money or manpower necessary for the complex and costly process of organic certification; we closely monitor their farming practices: as always, we focus on factors that mostly impact organic integrity, building “consumer trust” that the products meet defined standards, from farm to market. Our latest task is improving our system into a well-effective Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS) to certify the products as organic, focusing on growing local market trend, and to facilitate farmers to be more attracted by organic farming. PGS permits to reduce paperwork and other difficult aspects of organic certification, while maintaining high standards and protecting organic trustworthiness. Participatory Guarantee Systems are locally focused quality assurance systems. They certify producers based on active participation of stakeholders and are built on a foundation of trust, social networks and knowledge exchange (IFOAM Definition) Moreover, Ecowave would like to affirm that is very keen to work for the third party organic certifications, in order to bring our farmers produce to international markets according to buyers’ requirements.
